Am I a family herbalist?

What being a family herbalist means to me:

🤔 When someone in my family gets ill – like my child developing a fever – do I already know what to do? And if not, do I know exactly where to turn for trustworthy, practical advice?

🩺 Do I have a solid grasp of first aid for common family emergencies?

📒 Can I create a herbal support plan tailored to help a loved one manage a chronic health issue – something realistic and sustainable for them?

🍵 Is my home stocked with well-organised, ready-to-use herbal remedies – formulated in ways my family actually wants to take them?

🌿 Do I know how to identify, gather, and prepare the plants around me so I can make my own affordable, effective medicine – and avoid being at the mercy of the supply chain or rising prices?

👶🧓❤️ Do I know which herbs are safe for the children, elders, and those in my family who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication? Do I understand how to work with dosages?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Am I able to pass on this knowledge in a way that excites my children or grandchildren and sparks their love for herbs, nature, and real food – so that this legacy of herbal wisdom, our birthright, lives on through future generations and beyond?

🧠 And last but not least: Do I have the mindset and tools I need to keep learning and grow my knowledge over time?

If these are the kinds of skills you’d like to build, you’re in the right place.

90% discount on the final price

I also want to keep the pricing of 30-Day Family Herbalist as accessible as possible.

It’s my dream for The School of Wild Medicine to go big and change as many people’s lives as possible.

But I’m only one person, and I want to be able to provide an answer to every question and personal support.

So, for every 100 students who join, I will have to raise the price for new students.

Some herbalism schools price their courses in the hundreds of dollars, and I’ve seen one going for $46001.

The current price of 30-Day Family Herbalist is $7.99, which is the lowest it will ever be.

That’s a 90% discount compared to the final price of the course, which will be £79.90!

But I don’t want to rush your decision, and pressure you into a false sense of urgency.

I want you to be as sure as possible that 30-Day Family Herbalist is a good fit for you before you join.

Who is Rosa Wilde?

Rosa Wilde, herbalist and instructor at The School of Wild Medicine

I’m Rosa Wilde – founder of The School of Wild Medicine, community herbalist, health writer, MBTI-type INFJ and mum of 3 wild explorers, aged 11, 9 and 2.

Alongside my writing at theschoolofwildmedicine.com, I’ve also worked in medicine and healthcare as a writer and translator for over 12 years, writing everything from herbal supplement packaging to academic papers, and even an undergraduate-level neuroscience textbook!

Meanwhile, my passion has always been the world of herbalism and foraging, and over the past decade, I’ve invested $$$$ in books and online courses to deepen my knowledge and experience.

But what really made me a herbalist and an experienced forager wasn’t the pretty display of certificates on my wall or my bookshelf full of books…

💡 It was consistent, hands-on practice

the exact kind of guided, bite-sized action I share with you in 30-Day Family Herbalist.

This course is the result of everything I’ve learned about how real transformation happens:

🚫 not by memorising random herbalism facts
🚫 not by passively watching YouTube videos
🚫 not by forcing yourself to take notes when you’re already tired

✅ but by taking small, manageable daily actions
✅ that turn into real-world results you can see and feel
✅ which builds lasting confidence as you move forward

If you’ve ever struggled to “make the information stick”, you’re in exactly the right place.

And if you’ve got questions? Please ask! 🙋‍♀️

Watching my students step into their confidence on their herbal path is what lights me up.

The community forum is a safe space to share your questions – and every question you ask helps build a more supportive learning environment for everyone.

    1. Hello Kelisha, thank you for your comment!

You’re right in using the term community herbalist, there’s also a detailed explanation on the herbal academy website, I’ll link here

The Family Herbalist course is more about covering all the basics of herbalism for beginners, I’m also going to be working on a more advanced Community Herbalist course with all the resources needed to support each health condition 🙂

In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions you may have about health issues or herbs, and I’ll do my best to help you find an answer! Take care and have a lovely day ❤️

  2. Hi! I know this course is online but are there times when there will be live discussions? I ask because I’m in the US and the time difference could be an issue.

    Blessed Be,
    Heather Langley

    1. Thank you for your interest in the course Heather 🙂
I likely won’t be doing live discussions for the next year or two, as I have my 2 year-old with me most of the time. But over 70% of my readers are from the US, so when I do lives in the future I’ll make sure to do surveys to check what the best times are for everyone, and then do them on different times on different days. Take care 💚

  3. hello! I would love to take this course but am having trouble with the link. Can you please advise?
    Many thanks!

    1. Hello Jean, thank you so much for your interest in the course! It isn’t ready yet, but I’ll update you via this comment as soon as it’s ready in case you’re still interested by then 🙂 take care x

    1. Hi Nancy, thanks for your message, and sorry about the long delay in replying!
I buy a lot of store-bought herbs myself, online in bulk. A good tip for for seeing if they are good quality is, is the colour of the dried herb close to what it used to be when it was fresh? If it’s still fairly vibrant, that means it will have retained a lot of its goodness.
When I gather wild herbs for tea, I always dry them first anyway. You’ll get a more intense colour from making tea with dried herbs vs fresh, and that means stronger medicine.
Dried herbs will be best quality within a year or two of harvesting, so the herbs in store may have been sitting around in a warehouse or on a shelf for longer than that, but they’ll still have plenty of goodness in them.
It’s worth experimenting with the dose, to see what works for you.
I hope I answered your question, feel free to let me know if you have any more 🙂
